Review THE CARAVAGGIO CONSPIRACY – Alex Connor This book was a very pleasant surprise, far too often today thrillers are formulaic and predictable, the “bad guy” standing out by a country mile. Not the case in the clever well written interesting tale. The plot and the characters are extremely well written, very real and often very flawed, the true triumph of the book being Gil Eckhart, such a multi dimensional interesting lead character, but with a great supporting cast. The back plot of Caravaggio provides an educational and illuminating setting both in the world of the art trade and also [...]

So if you put a person against a red backdrop, it literally pulls the figure towards the viewer. Research has also shown that red slightly increases blood pressure, respiration, and heart rate. It’s the [...]
Titian and his Times What is the truth about Titian? That great Venetian painter who lived from 1485 – 1576. Ah, we have to stop there. Because his death date isn’t certain. You see, Titian lied about his age. As he got older and wanted sympathy – and a way to wrench money from his tight fisted patrons – he made himself older. How could you cheat a man of seventy? Or eighty? Or ninety? Clever, but then Titian was always smart. Not only a brilliant painter, he was an astute businessman, never more so than when [...]
